Mission:

To Change the Way . . . ART Works! To unite and transform society by promoting the arts and community projects.

Vision:

The TAC envisions artists and communities working together for the good of society in many various ways.

• Foster Creative Energies
• Encourage Creative Problem Solving and Community Renewal
• Utilize a community and all of its talents to serve the community
• Work with Artists as catalysts for creative solutions
• Use the arts to bridge the gaps that separate non-profit groups, business, government, and educational establishments
• Educate the public of the value of art and creativity as part of life
• Create a new role for the “Artist” in society
To inspire and excite communities about the arts while incorporating and engaging as many school subjects, professions and people as possible.  Using the arts to bridge local schools with their community to help support humanitarian and environmental causes and the organizations that serve them.  Conducting regional and national art competitions which demonstrate that the art can be interesting, captivating and entertaining as a sporting event but where charitable causes benefit from the efforts of participants.

Values:

What T.A.C. Can Do:

Picture
  1. Identify significant problems throughout society.
  2. Find creative boundary-busting solutions.
  3. Establish community collaborations to aid in the visualization and realization of these creative endeavors.

Who We Are:

Picture
The TAC is a multi-functioning coalition of artisans, and art supporters, from diverse backgrounds joined together to promote the artistic mind in innovative ways for the general benefit of all people.

The TAC board of directors oversees the overall organization to make sure that the mission is carried out effectively by the executive director, and the TAC Project Inspiration Group (PIG).

What We Do:

On a local level, the TAC seeks to utilize the artist’s creative ideas (creativity) in order to develop unique cooperative community collaborations that utilize a community's resources and abilities for the good of that community and others. These cooperative collaborations seek to ignite positive energies that flow in and through the community’s “veins”.

On a national and international level, the TAC seeks to do the same as the above aforementioned only on a much larger scale!

The TAC seeks out, and works with, informal “members” who dispose of themselves (make themselves available) thus giving of their ideas, input and advise on how to utilize creativity productively to develop the creative collaborations which in turn are to be carried out by the local communities.

The TAC acts as the mediator and facilitator of the associated artists and their ideas, while also acting as the liaison between the artists and the targeted community.

Why We Do What We Do:

We have a Mission and Vision!!! TAC looks at art for more than just “Art for Arts sake” but rather as “Art for Heart’s sake.” We believe that man’s talents are intelligently given to him, and therefore should be intelligently, and honorably utilized. With this said, TAC promotes the use of these talents and gifts in creative and artistic ways that will be more effective in the service of all creation, than just for decoration and consideration.

Our History and Governance:

TAC was founded in 1994 when a loosely assembled group of visual artists joined forces to market their artistic talents in a way that would support charitable causes in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Under the inspiration and direction of Northern Virginia artist David Heatwole, the TAC artists began their services by annually painting very unique pumpkins for such charities as The Children's Medical Center in Washington, DC, Interfaith Relief - food bank in Leesburg, VA, and painted one-of-a-kind bird houses to raise money for the Loudoun County Habitat for Humanity.

TAC incorporated in 1999 as a registered 501(c)3, charitable, non-profit organization whose business is conducted by a volunteer Board of Directors who oversee the "Council" and all of it's supporting parts. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors is comprised of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and several members at large.

Our Support:

TAC is a public, membership organization. We depend upon the generous support of volunteers to assist with our programs. For our annual budget we rely on memberships, individual and corporate contributions, admissions, program revenues and fund raising to support our programs. We are also supported in part by local and other nationally recognized businesses as well as special donations.
